The National High Magnetic Field lab in Tallahassee, Florida will hold its fifteenth Theory Winter School from January 11 to 15, 2027.
The school will explore how disorder and inhomogeneity give rise to localization, glassy dynamics, strange metallic behavior, and nonequilibrium phenomena in quantum materials. It will connect foundational ideas from Anderson localization and spin-glass physics with modern developments in many-body localization, prethermalization, quantum chaos, and holography. Particular emphasis will be placed on the continuing influence of these concepts on artificial intelligence, quantum circuits, and other emerging approaches to complex quantum dynamics.
